Basketball Recap: Mt. Morris Comes Up Short

Mt. Morris was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were dealt a 67-14 loss at the hands of the Lakeville Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 605th, while the Falcons are ranked 265th).

Mt. Morris' defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Lakeville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Mt. Morris is taking a road trip to challenge Hill-McCloy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lakeville, they will welcome Birch Run at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Lakeville's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Birch Run has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
