Soccer Game Preview: Florence vs. St. Mary's

Florence is 0-5 against St. Mary since April of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Huskies are taking a road trip to challenge the Pirates at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Florence is coming into the matchup fresh off a high-scoring shootout with Banning Lewis Academy that saw the pair combine for 31 shots on goal. The Huskies came up short against the Stallions on Tuesday, falling 4-1. That's two games in a row now that Florence have lost by exactly three goals.

Their goal came courtesy of Bayleigh Angerman, who's now up to three this season.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's managed to keep up with Salida until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Pirates lost 5-2 to the Spartans. The loss continues a trend for St. Mary's in their meetings with Salida: they've now lost four in a row.

St. Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 2-3-1. As for Florence, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.
