Baseball Recap: William Penn Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when William Penn faced off against Red Lion on Thursday. The Bearcats fell 6-2 to the Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-2 back in March.

Osvaldo Cabrera was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Andy Sanchez, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances.

William Penn has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Red Lion, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. William Penn will face off against Central Dauphin East at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Red Lion, they will take on Susquehannock at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
