Basketball Recap: Heard County Comes Up Short

Heard County lost against Darlington back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Heard County Braves were outmatched by the Darlington Tigers and fell 75-44. The Braves were down 57-36 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Heard County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jakari Andrews went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Armari Emory, who went 5 for 10 to rack up 11 points.

Heard County is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11. As for Darlington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-5.

Heard County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-50 defeat against Temple on the 31st. As for Darlington, they have also already played their next contest, a 68-50 loss against Christian Heritage on the 1st.
