Softball Recap: Bluefield Drops Highest Score of Season Against Mingo Central

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bluefield). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Mingo Central Miners a 15-0 shutout on Friday. The Beavers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 29, 2024 (when they won 19-0).

Bluefield got a massive performance out of Maddie Lawson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those doubles marked the first that Lawson has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Audra Rockness, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Bluefield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Bluefield's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-9. As for Mingo Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
