Basketball Recap: Mount Vernon Comes Up Short

Mount Vernon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 22nd straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Rains Wildcats 64-33. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 75-28 back in January.

Mount Vernon's record is now 0-21. As for Rains, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Mount Vernon has already played their next match (against Winnsboro), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Rains will be playing at home against Prairiland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rains has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
