Soccer Game Preview: Madison vs. Sharpstown

The Madison Marlins will kick their season off against the Sharpstown Apollos on Wednesday. Kickoff is scheduled at 7:45 p.m.

Sharpstown is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals on Friday, they were much more limited against Angleton on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Wildcats. One reason for the loss might be the Apollos' aggressive play style: five Sharpstown players were handed yellow cards.

Their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

As for Madison, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they had a phenomenal run, finishing with a superb 15-5 record.

Madison came up short against Sharpstown in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 4-2. Can Madison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
