After both having extra time off, the Fairmont Firebirds and the Chaminade Julienne Catholic Eagles will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fairmont will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Fairmont got the win against Northmont by a conclusive 3-0.

Fairmont's got stronger as the match went on, holding Northmont to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-14, 25-9.

Fairmont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sandler Miranda led the charge by getting 19 assists and five digs. Owen Castle was another key player, getting nine digs and two assists.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Chaminade Julienne Catholic, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They came out on top against Carroll by a score of 3-1 last Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won four in a row.
