Volleyball Recap: Middle Creek Comes Up Short

If Middle Creek was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Willow Spring on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the J.H. Rose Rampants on Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-23, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Middle Creek saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cameron Gerber had 17 digs and one assist. Gerber has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Middle Creek dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middle Creek will head out to take on Fuquay - Varina at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for J.H. Rose, they will square off against C.B. Aycock at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
