Basketball Game Preview: Onaga Buffaloes vs. Flint Hills Christian Warriors

Onaga is a perfect 3-0 against Flint Hills Christian since January of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Buffaloes will head out to challenge the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Onaga is headed out to face Flint Hills Christian after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Buffaloes came out on top against Northern Heights by a score of 55-45 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Buffaloes in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Onaga to victory, but perhaps none more so than Koy Nider, who posted 19 points in addition to eight assists and five boards. The dominant performance also gave Nider a new career-high in steals (three). Another player making a difference was Ryder Kolterman, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Meanwhile, Flint Hills Christian strolled past Chanute Christian with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 62-43. The Warriors pushed the score to 52-29 by the end of the third, a deficit Chanute Christian cut but never quite recovered from.

Onaga didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Flint Hills Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 44-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buffaloes since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
