Basketball Recap: Thunder Ridge Drops Season-High Score on Canyon Ridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Thunder Ridge). They breezed by the Canyon Ridge Riverhawks to the tune of 63-21 on Wednesday. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Riverhawks are ranked 109th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Thunder Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nevaeh Davenport, who posted eight points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Davenport a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Avah Lugo, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 10 points.

Thunder Ridge was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canyon Ridge only posted one assist.

The win snapped Thunder Ridge's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-8 record. As for Canyon Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thunder Ridge will challenge Highland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Canyon Ridge, they will square off against Filer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Filer has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
