Softball Recap: Mayfield Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mayfield can now relate to. They came up short against the Riverside Beavers on Thursday, falling 6-0. The Wildcats have struggled against the Beavers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Mayfield's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Riverside, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 23-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Beavers beat Mayfield by a score of 6-0 on Friday.
