Volleyball Game Preview: Apex Cougars vs. Holly Springs Golden Hawks

The Apex Cougars will take on the Holly Springs Golden Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Apex is headed out to face Holly Springs after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Everything went the Cougars' way against Broughton on Monday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Capitals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-6, 25-10.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Apex to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrea Quirez, who had seven digs and five aces.

Meanwhile, Holly Springs was able to grind out a solid win over Fuquay - Varina on Tuesday, taking the game 3-1.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-13, 13-25, 25-22.

Apex skirted past Holly Springs 3-2 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Golden Hawks' Adlee Grissett, who had 16 digs and three aces. Now that she won't be playing on Wednesday, will it be easier for the Cougars to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
