Columbia Central had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Clinton Redwolves by a score of 3-2. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Redwolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Nick Wilding was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Wilding was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Coincidentally, Columbia Central and Clinton will both be playing Blissfield the next time they take the field. The Golden Eagles will head out to face the Royals at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Redwolves will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
