Baseball Recap: Tyler Comes Up Short

Tyler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the Marshall Mavericks, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mavericks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-2 back in March.

Tyler's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Marshall, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13.

Tyler and Marshall could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Lions will take on Lufkin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (1143 vs. 93). Meanwhile, Marshall (ranked 790th) will meet Hallsville (ranked 95th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
