Soccer Game Preview: Scituate vs. Exeter-West Greenwich + How To Watch

The Scituate Spartans will head out to face off against the Exeter-West Greenwich Scarlet Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Scituate is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.3 goals per game this season.

Scituate is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Coventry, who was ranked 12th at the time (Scituate was ranked seventh). The Spartans put the hurt on the Oakers with a sharp 4-0 victory on Wednesday. The matchup was close at halftime, but Scituate turned on the heat in the second half with three goals.

They hit Coventry with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Noah Bradford (2), Declan Cahill, and Jason Bettez.

Meanwhile, after soaring to eight goals the game before, Exeter-West Greenwich was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. They fell just short of Burrillville by a score of 2-1.

Scituate has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-1-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those eight matchups. As for Exeter-West Greenwich, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9-2.

Everything went Scituate's way against Exeter-West Greenwich in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Scituate made off with a 4-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
