Volleyball Recap: Mater Brighton Lakes Academy Comes Up Short

Mater Brighton Lakes Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Mulberry Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Broncos of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

While Mater Brighton Lakes Academy had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19, 25-18.

Among those leading the charge was Ernesto Rangel, who had six digs and four aces.

Mater Brighton Lakes Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Mulberry, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

Looking ahead, Mater Brighton Lakes Academy will challenge Haines City at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mulberry, they will take on Lakeland in a tournament on Saturday.
