Football Recap: Hilton Head Christian Academy's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hilton Head Christian Academy can now relate to. They came up short against the Wilson Hall Barons on Friday, falling 50-29. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 21-9 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

Hilton Head Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jackson Richardson, who picked up 71 receiving yards, and also rushed for 35 yards. Joseph Houpt also helped out with an impressive 85 receiving yards.

Ben McLaurin was his usual excellent self, rushing for 276 yards and four scores while picking up 12.0 yards per carry for Wilson Hall. McLaurin showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 60 yards. Ford Wilder was another major influence, as he rushed for 108 yards and ran in a TD.

Hilton Head Christian Academy moved to 6-6 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Wilson Hall, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Hilton Head Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wilson Hall, they will face off against Pinewood Prep at 7:30 p.m. on the 22nd. The Barons will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
