Basketball Recap: Newman Comes Up Short

Newman lost against Auburndale back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Newman Fighting Cardinals fell 55-42 to the Auburndale Apaches. That's two games in a row now that the Fighting Cardinals have lost by exactly 13 points.

Newman's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Auburndale, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Newman will take on Marathon in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Auburndale, they will head out on the road to challenge Assumption at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Auburndale knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Assumption likes a good challenge.
