Softball Recap: Montini Catholic Comes Up Short

Montini Catholic and Saint Viator pushed the score to 13-12 the last time they played Saint Viator, but on Wednesday defenses reigned supreme. The Broncos fell just short of the Lions by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Broncos of the 13-12 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Montini Catholic and nudges their season record down to 13-10. As for Saint Viator, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-15.

Coming up, Montini Catholic will welcome St. Laurence at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Broncos' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Saint Viator, they will head out to take on Benet Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
