Softball Recap: Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia won against Barry Western on Tuesday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Trojans beat the Astoria/VIT Rebels by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-2. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now won six in a row.

Addilynn Tracy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and not a single walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Rohn, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Lucie Dion, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Astoria/VIT only posted an OBP of .231.

Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia pushed their record up to 20-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.3 runs. As for Astoria/VIT, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia will square off against Jacksonville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Astoria/VIT, they will take on Liberty at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rebels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
