Baseball Game Preview: Grant Union Prospectors vs. Union/Cove Bobcats

Grant Union has gone 9-1 against Union/Cove recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Prospectors will venture away from home to square off against the Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Grant Union sitting on six straight wins and Union/Cove on five.

Grant Union barely beat Weston-McEwen the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Prospectors put the hurt on the TigerScots with a sharp 19-2 victory on Friday. The Prospectors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 11 runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Union/Cove narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Elgin 6-4.

Grant Union's record is now 7-3. As for Union/Cove, their record now sits at 6-3.

Grant Union couldn't quite get it done against Union/Cove in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 as they fell 4-1. Can the Prospectors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
