Baseball Recap: Ellet Takes a Loss

If Ellet was feeling good fresh off their 17-0 takedown of East on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Orangement fell just short of the Rootstown Rovers by a score of 6-5 on Thursday.

Ellet's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-8. As for Rootstown, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Ellet will venture away from home to challenge Lake Center Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tiger's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Orangement's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Rootstown, they will square off against Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.31 runs per game on average), something the Rovers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
