East Longmeadow hadn't done well against West Springfield recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Terriers. The game was the first time the Spartans have beaten the Terriers on their court since September 26, 2017.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-13, 25-18.

Evey Schnabl paced East Longmeadow's offense, picking up ten kills. Schnabl got some help from Sophie Lalchandani and her 18 assists. Autumn Brockett controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

East Longmeadow has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. As for West Springfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Longmeadow will square off against Belchertown at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for West Springfield, they will welcome Agawam at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
