Softball Recap: Cochranton Cardinals vs. Saegertown Panthers        
        
		
            
 After a string of four wins dating back to last season, Cochranton's good fortune finally ran out  on Tuesday. They wound up on the wrong side of a  tough 11-1 walloping at the hands of the Saegertown Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Cochranton of the  3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in May of 2023.
  Danielle Hoffman was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 On Saegertown's side,  Mikaila Obenrader made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only one  hit while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. Obenrader has been consistent recently: she hasn't  pitched less than seven  innings every time she's  pitched this season. Obenrader was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Kacie Mook was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with a  home run and three  RBI.  Maggie Triola was another key contributor,  scoring three  runs while going 3-for-4.
 Having lost for the first time this season, Cochranton  fell to 3-1. As for Saegertown, their win was  their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 3-1.
 Cochranton will play host again  on Wednesday to welcome Rocky Grove, where first pitch is scheduled  at 4:00  p.m. Cochranton is facing Rocky Grove at the right time seeing as Rocky Grove is stuck on  a  three-game losing streak. As for Saegertown, they will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Eisenhower at 4:30  p.m. Saegertown's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5  runs per game  this season, so Eisenhower's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
