Baseball Recap: Reedley Has No Trouble Against Dos Palos

Reedley got themselves on the board against Dos Palos on Tuesday, but Dos Palos never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Broncos with a sharp 11-0 win. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.

Rocky Garcia and Alex Rodriguez did most of the damage at the plate: Garcia scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while Rodriguez scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Rodriguez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Gage Betancourt was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Reedley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dos Palos only posted an OBP of .062.

Reedley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Dos Palos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Reedley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Orosi on the 21st. As for Dos Palos, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-0 defeat against Liberty on the 20th.
