Baseball Recap: Bandys Trojans vs. East Gaston Warriors
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Bandys had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the East Gaston Warriors and snuck past 6-4. The win was familiar territory for Bandys who now have five in a row.
Alex Robinson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit, only one earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Robinson has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive pitching appearances. Robinson was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Dominic Robinson was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.
On East Gaston's side, Dylan Howell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Bandys pushed their record up to 21-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for East Gaston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-9.
