Baseball Game Preview: Frontier Titans vs. Hanford Bullpups

The Frontier Titans will take on the Hanford Bullpups in a tournament on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Frontier had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Bakersfield on Tuesday. Frontier blew past Bakersfield 13-1. The win continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Drillers: they've now won nine in a row.

Cade Shaw looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jaylen Tia, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Cannon Machado, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Hanford sidestepped Redwood for a 4-3 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bullpups have posted against the Rangers since April 27, 2021.

Hanford saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Keeney, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Hanford now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Frontier, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

Hanford's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Frontier has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .462. It's a different story for Hanford, though, as they've only averaged .277. Will they be able to contain Frontier's hitters?

Frontier came out on top in a nail-biter against Hanford in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, sneaking past 2-1. Will Frontier repeat their success, or does Hanford have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
