The Artesia Pioneers will head out to challenge the Westminster Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Artesia is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Artesia came up short against Katella and fell 10-7.

Khloe Loquellano was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Paulina Nava was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Even though they lost, Artesia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. This was only their first loss (out of five games) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Westminster was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 9-0 to Katella.

Artesia has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. Westminster's loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
