Basketball Game Preview: South Paulding Spartans vs. New Manchester Jaguar

The South Paulding Spartans will square off against the New Manchester Jaguar at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as South Paulding comes in on five and New Manchester on six.

On Saturday, in a tight match that could have gone either way, South Paulding made off with a 56-55 victory over Kennesaw Mountain. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Mustangs are ranked 231st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, New Manchester strolled past Douglas County with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 83-64.

New Manchester has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.5 points per game. As for South Paulding, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-7.

South Paulding and New Manchester were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in January, but South Paulding came up empty-handed after a 61-60 defeat. Can South Paulding avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
