Baseball Recap: Pendleton Heights Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pendleton Heights can now relate to. They fell just short of the Greenfield-Central Cougars by a score of 1-0 on Monday. The Arabians have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Jackson Maifeld was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Rylan Keesling was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Pendleton Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Greenfield-Central, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-14.
