Tri-City Athletic League recap October 1, 2013
Tokay added to the longest winning streak in Tri-City Athletic League this week by beating Lodi, 44-7. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Tigers.
Tokay scaled the state rankings by moving to 327 from 390 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Louis Franklin's team was able to move up by besting the Flames 44-7.
Stagg's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Wayne Brooks threw for 144 and 3 touchdowns and Lester Williams had 75 yards receiving. On the ground Daniel Ruffin contributed 78 yards. Jamareus Spivey helped Stagg's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 24 yards.
The Delta Kings' dynamic duo of Brooks and Williams proved to be unstoppable against Fairfield, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Spivey helped Stagg's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 24 yards.
He was 6-10 with 0 interception.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, St. Mary's's Kaleb Parrish and Demetrius Ferguson have proven to be a lethal combination. Parrish has thrown for 743 yards this season, while Ferguson, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 20 catches for 380 yards. The Tigers' Alex Burgos leads the league in rushing yards with 504.
Edison and Franklin played the closest game in Tri-City Athletic League this week, with Edison eventually emerging with a 34-31 victory.
