Volleyball Recap: Baldwin Park Takes a Loss

Baldwin Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Azusa Aztecs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Braves of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-21, 25-15.

Edlynn Flores paced Baldwin Park's offense, picking up six kills. Flores got some help from Mya Martinez and her 19 assists. Leticia Jimenez controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Baldwin Park's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Azusa, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-7 record.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Baldwin Park will take on rival Duarte at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Azusa is set to challenge their familiar foe Nogales at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
