A feisty cat fight will be fought when the South Decatur Cougars face off against the Alexandria-Monroe Tigers at 10:00 a.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

South Decatur is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against South Ripley on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. South Decatur was dealt a 69-37 defeat at the hands of South Ripley. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Raiders are ranked 71st).

Despite the loss, South Decatur had strong showings from Drake Scaggs, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards, and Karson Templeton, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 11 points in addition to three steals and three blocks. Scaggs is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Aidan Bryant, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, Alexandria-Monroe lost to Wapahani at home by a 51-34 margin on Saturday. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Alexandria-Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for South Decatur, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
