Basketball Recap: Miller Beats Veterans Memorial for Their Third Straight Victory

Miller had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 50-39 victory over the Veterans Memorial Chargers. While the Buccaneers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Izaiah Gidrey produced another solid performance going 9-for-17 on his way to 20 points and seven steals. Those seven steals gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Charles Perry Jr, who posted 12 points along with six assists and six steals.

Miller's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Veterans Memorial, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Miller has already played their next contest, a 49-37 victory against Mercedes on the 12th. As for Veterans Memorial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 46-33 loss against Edinburg North on the 12th.
