Recap: Pinellas Park Patriots vs. Hillsborough Terriers

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Pinellas Park Patriots, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were dealt a 61-12 loss at the hands of the Terriers on Monday. While losing is never fun, Pinellas Park can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while Hillsborough is ranked 172nd).

Ja'mya Roberson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hillsborough, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Roberson has scored all season. Deana Epps was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven steals.

Pinellas Park are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.3 points per game. As for Hillsborough, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a massive bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Pinellas Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hillsborough, they will head out on the road to face off against Countryside at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing isn't great for Countryside: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Hillsborough has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
