Basketball Recap: Germantown Friends Comes Up Short

Germantown Friends was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-53 heartbreaker at the hands of Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Germantown Friends of the 72-68 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Khaleef Agbemehia, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Hasan Laws, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Germantown Friends' loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-9.

Germantown Friends will venture away from home to challenge Abington Friends at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech, they will welcome Mastery Charter North - Pickett at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 194 points over their last three games.
