Basketball Recap: St. Joseph Comes Up Short

After flying high against Portland last Saturday, St. Joseph came back down to earth. The St. Joseph Cadets'2024 ended with a 78-61 defeat against the Notre Dame Prep Lancers on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cadets of the 76-49 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, St. Joseph still got an impressive performance from TJ Wright, who went 11 for 23 on his way to 29 points. The matchup was Wright's 19th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Febus, who posted 11 points.

St. Joseph now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Notre Dame Prep, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.

St. Joseph will head out on the road to square off against Greenwich at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Notre Dame Prep, they will host Joel Barlow at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Notre Dame Prep's favor as the team sits on 15 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Joel Barlow has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
