Basketball Recap: Braelyn Isidro Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat City of Life Christian Academy

A well-balanced attack led Forest Lake Academy over City of Life Christian Academy in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. The Forest Lake Academy Panthers took down the City of Life Christian Academy Warriors 47-30. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 45-41 last Tuesday.

Forest Lake Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Braelyn Isidro out in front who posted ten points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Brooke Maynard was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 17 boards.

Forest Lake Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as City of Life Christian Academy only pulled down 11 offensive boards.

Despite the loss, City of Life Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Joelle King scored eight points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. King has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Treftz, who earned eight points and seven boards.

Forest Lake Academy's record now sits at 5-7. As for City of Life Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.

Forest Lake Academy has already played their next contest (against Orangewood Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. City of Life Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 63-44 victory against Merritt Island Christian on the 21st.
