Recap: Racine Park Panthers vs. Oak Creek Knights

The Racine Park Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 50-49 to Oak Creek. While losing is never fun, Racine Park can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Oak Creek is ranked 83rd).

Despite the defeat, Racine Park had strong showings from Ellie Khreish, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Addison Betker, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Betker hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games.

Racine Park has not been sharp recently as the team has lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. As for Oak Creek, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-9.

Racine Park will head out on the road to take on Racine Horlick at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Racine Horlick is coming into the matchup with eight straight losses at home, meaning Racine Park will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. Oak Creek will take on Kenosha Tremper at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kenosha Tremper is coming into the game with five straight wins on the road, so Oak Creek is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
