Baseball Recap: Hayfield Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Hayfield couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-0 to the James Madison Warhawks, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss continues a trend for the Hawks in their meetings with the Warhawks: they've now lost eight in a row.

Hayfield's defeat dropped their record down to 20-7. As for James Madison, their victory was their 16th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-3.

Hayfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for James Madison, they will challenge Battlefield at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The Bobcats' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Warhawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
