Softball Recap: Ridgeland Drops Highest Score of Season Against Columbus

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ridgeland). Everything went their way against the Columbus Falcons on Friday as they made off with a 35-23 victory. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Kristiana Heningburg was a standout: she got on base in all six of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hannah Lipsey, who scored five runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances.

Ridgeland's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Columbus, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with the defeat, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgeland will venture away from home to face off against Vicksburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbus, they will head out to take on Choctaw Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
