Clay County was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Corbin Redhounds. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 7-6 victory the Redhounds walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.
The team relied heavily on Sydney Stewart, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Presley Griffin, who got three hits from her three at bats.
Clay County's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Corbin, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-13.
