After losing to Rustburg the last time they met, Amherst County decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lancers were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Red Devils on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won six matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Amherst County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Rustburg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Amherst County will challenge rival Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Rustburg is set to square off against their familiar foe Glass at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
