Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for HEARTS for Jesus Christ

HEARTS for Jesus Christ waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 38-28 win over the Cross Lanes Christian Warriors. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Guardians' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 695th in Ohio, while the Warriors are ranked 121st in West Virginia).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead HEARTS for Jesus Christ to victory, but perhaps none more so than Haven Anthony, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. That's the most rebounds Anthony has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Carenna Lewis, who had four points in addition to nine boards and five steals.

HEARTS for Jesus Christ's win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Cross Lanes Christian, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

HEARTS for Jesus Christ didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-41 loss against Varsity Opponent on the 7th. Cross Lanes Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
