Abingdon proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Appomattox County Raiders, sneaking past 4-3. The win was familiar territory for the Falcons, who have now won eight contests in a row.

Abingdon's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Appomattox County, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.

Coming up, Abingdon will take on John Battle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Appomattox County, they will challenge Nelson County at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders are facing the Governors at the right time seeing as the Governors are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
