Football Recap: Wilson Hall Comes Up Short

After soaring to 35 points the game before, Wilson Hall was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They and the Laurence Manning Academy Swampcats were almost perfectly matched up, but the Barons suffered a 14-13 loss. The Barons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Swampcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Wilson Hall's loss came despite strong showings from Ben McLaurin and Milling Galloway. McLaurin rushed for 101 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries, while Galloway gained 58 total yards and a touchdown.

Having lost for the first time this season, Wilson Hall fell to 3-1. As for Laurence Manning Academy, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilson Hall will head out to challenge Camden Military at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Laurence Manning Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Pinewood Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' defense has only allowed 12.2 points per game this season, so the Swampcats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
