Baseball Game Preview: Williams Vikings vs. Ray Bearcats

The Williams Vikings will face off against the Ray Bearcats at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Williams is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

Williams fell victim to Needles and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Williams saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Soto, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Ray played against Duncan on Saturday and won via forfeit.

Ray has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-13-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Williams, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9-1.

Williams took their win against Ray in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 18-1 score. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bearcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
