Baseball Game Preview: Wayne County War Eagles vs. Purvis Tornadoes + Official Tickets

For the second straight game, Wayne County will face off against Purvis. The War Eagles will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Tornadoes at 6:30 p.m. Wayne County has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 20.

Wayne County came up short against Purvis on Tuesday, falling 11-4.

For Purvis' part, Hayden Shattles looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, Shattles posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

At the plate, Beau Flatt was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Tyce Shepherd, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Wayne County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Purvis, their win bumped their record up to 16-6.
