Green Canyon proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 34) but on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged the Sky View Bobcats out 31-28. The Wolves have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bobcats, too.
Payton Wilson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 193 yards while picking up 9.7 yards per carry, and also throwing for 170 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes. Those 193 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Hayden Schramm was in the mix too, providing Green Canyon with two touchdowns.
Green Canyon was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 265 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Despite the loss, Sky View still got an impressive performance from Jack Clark, who threw for 241 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Liam Guthrie was Clark's top target, picking up 81 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Green Canyon's record is now 7-2. As for Sky View, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
